                  were outlined to direct observations and during the lab 
                  students were specifically directed to see groups who's 
                  cloud chamber were working especially well.

                 speeds, the large scale of distance and vastness of space, the
                 concept of big time; we did factor labeling/dimensional analysis;
                 we converted light speed into light years and the number of
                 miles a light year actually is.  Students completed the worksheet
                 what is a billion, using factor labeling.

                discussed radar guns for speed detection and use of Radar in

       Classwork: we went over both papers in class: Kirchoff's Law of Spectra
                and Doppler Effect paper; explained how to interpret the galaxy
                spectra charts, determine speeds, and complete the handout; time
                given in class to complete the work; explained the velocities of
                galaxies and the very high speeds the galaxies are traveling , ie
                22,000 km/sec = 49,000,000 miles per hour. and 63,000 km/sec =
                140,000,000 miles per hour.

                the Star Life Cycle chart by Friday.
       Classwork:  The class did the galaxy classifying tutorial on
                http://zoo1.galaxyzoo.org  and began the life cycle of stars 
                tutorial at
                read the complete tutorial and do the animations and interactive
                aspects of the program.  There isn't one page where the life 
                cycle chart can be filled out, it is woven through the site
                and the life cycle is determined by the starting mass of the star
                with regard to the actual life cycle path a star will follow, the
                stages have similar aspects and unique aspects for each possibil-
                ity and the time spent at that stage.

                   made for calculations to be completed.

                    Friday 3.17.11 the Egg Drop Capsule Project is due so in class
                    on Friday we will onduct the egg drop and students will
                    complete the data measurement and recording so calculations
